Arnold Schwarzenegger is movie idol Jack Slater in Last Action Hero, which follows the adventures of 11-year-old Danny (Austin O'Brien), whose magic ticket blasts him out of his theater seat and into an action movie. It’s been a few years since I’ve watched it, but it’s still a great movie!!! Arnold at his best. I love how he makes a fun film even poking fun of his career. It is a great story with great action and some surprise cameos.

At best, this is a dull satirical look at 80s action movies, but it just feels like it was written by a child. Dull, hard to sit through, and not even remotely a good Arnold movie.

If this movie had been made before 91' (nirvana) or after 98' (South Park) it would have been a huge hit. Just watched for the first time since it came out, and it's brilliant. Too early for people to get the rich satire and too late for his fans to appreciate anything not grunge. One of ARNIE's best IMO.

Last action hero is a hilarious comedy action movie. The plot is very well set, the action is funny. The comedy is sexually funny, and funny from other blockbusters. I would recommend this for 11 year olds and up.

The real gem of this flick is Charles Dance, playing one of the truly great villains of modern memory. He's good in the movie world, but upon entering the real world his character truly shines. This is worth a watch for his performance alone.

This movie captures the dreams of every young boy who ever grew up watching Schwarzenegger movies. WHo wouldn't want to be Batman's Robin? The combination of rollin' with Arnold and the teenage fantasies of banging a hot older chick are the stuff of legend. High quality!

This is one of the greatest action/comedy films I have ever seen. It is funny but at the same time there is a great number of explosions. It has a wonderful story line that is easy to keep up with, and it will be fun for you and your teenagers to watch. I recommend you not to let little kids see it because of the violence. But other than that, it ROCKS!!!

Arnold was great in this film. He turned his characters he played previously against him. This is an 90's classic. This film would of did alot better if not realeased one week after Jurassic Park, but none the less this is a great film, It has action (of course) comedy, and a smidgen of drama. but i highly, highly recommend this film i loved it when i was a kid and love it as a teen. 5,0000* if i could

You can see from the five screenwriters that they had problems trying to write this movie out the godforsaken hole it had fallen into even before shooting began. Doesn't work as a sendup of action movies, Arnold is awful, nothing in it is funny or remotely exciting, and the "magical world" of action heroes that the boy protagonist finds himself in is dull, unimaginative, and lifeless. Do yourself a favor. Don't watch this one. You'll want those two hours of your life back.

the only dvd in circulation now of this fine movie is one full screen pan-n-scan. can anyone confirm that this is actually widescreen? the trailer is not.

Even with Arnold as the Governor of Calif. nothing can ruin this movie. With great music, guns and action it's a complete master piece. Loved it, and still do!

I loved this movie. The plot is original and quite comical. I love how they spoof a typical 1980's action flick. I could watch this movie over and over.

This movie really took a beating with critics, but it was hillarious in how it parodied the ridiculus movie schinanagans of 1980s action. The heros are never hurt, never run out of bullets, and get get away with incredibly unbelievable stunts. My interest dropped near the end when the movie turns more serious.
